THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will have the opportunity to work in an independent 17025 ISO-accredited laboratory that invests heavily in state of the art instrumentation and analytical technologies and works with a multitude of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTC) to provide them with high quality analytical data.

Modern Canna Laboratories is seeking a laboratory manager with experience operating commercial laboratories. You would be joining our laboratory team in Lakeland FL that is responsible for analytical work in a fast paced, high throughput laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with all state regulations and industry standards
  • Managing laboratory staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Ensuring the accuracy and reproducibility of test results through robust quality assurance and control measures
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Developing and revising SOPs to align with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Overseeing inventory management, ensuring the availability of necessary reagents and consumables
  • Collaborating with clients to provide technical support and address inquiries about testing services
  • Ensuring laboratory compliance with ISO 17025 standards, including preparation for audits and inspections
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and testing capabilities
  • Leading the implementation of new testing methods and technologies

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field
  • 4 or more years experience in an analytical laboratory preferred
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of LC, GC, and ICP-MS instrumentation preferred
  • Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment preferred
